It has been over a week since my last update. I must be getting real lazy. Then again, I have been super busy with moving the office and all. My boss and I traded commutes, he now lives about a mile from the office like I used to. It’s okay though because I got a raise last week, and there is always the hope that gas prices with remain where they are for a nice long time.
I also got a new desk for my office. Carrie wanted her desk back that I was using and this one was abandoned on the loading dock. There is more surface area, and bigger drawers. I even got a new filing cabinet. With a larger desk and a smaller office is sure does look like I have less space. I don’t mind this because now I do not have all of the large files or the sales persons paperwork racks in my office.
Theresa and Drake brought me some picture frames so I can print some photos and hang them up. I should do that next week. Carrie also gave me a few photos that she took back in April of 2007. Drake is crawling on my desk, he’s so darn cute.
Last night Theresa and I watched Get Smart last night. I rented it from the Redbox in our local Walmart. This was my first Redbox rental and everything seems to have gone very well. I still have to take it back today to avoid getting charged for a second day. The first day was free with a promo code that I had. As far as the actual movie goes… I’m glad it was free. The movie was funny, but there was just something about it that didn’t click for me.
Backtracking through the last week brings me to Sunday. I didn’t do anything. I was in my pajamas all day long. I watched TV and played Nintendo and PS3 all day. Theresa’s parents came over for a visit in the evening. We backed a take and bake cheese pizza from Costco. The pizza was impressive.
Saturday morning I watched TV and played video games. I didn’t have Drake because he had spent the night with Grandma and Grandpa Klein. After we picked him up and got home I baked a pizza and ended up watching the Red Wings game.
Moving farther back, in the week brings me to days that I cannot remember what we did. I’m so bad at that. I even forgot to take the trash out this morning. Oops.
Buzz Me » The America we should be: vote no on Proposition 8.
Molly Wood is fantastic.
There are three new roundabouts near St. Mary’s Hospital that are going to be opening real soon. These new intersections should ease traffic on Wealthy St once they are finished. With these a motorist no longer needs to come to a complete stop if traffic allows.
There are several large roundabouts in Michigan. One that stands out in my mind is just off from I-96 in Coopersville. I’d show a satellite image of it, but Google Maps does not have high resolution of that area. MDOT has constructed some roundabouts on some major state roads.
The city has provided a Roundabout Brochure explaining everything.
The state has provided this demonstration to help navigate these roundabouts.
Yesterday Vudu announced the availability of their new HDX service Peter at Crunch Gear has a nice write up regarding it that includes some pictures for comparison. Basically Vudu is saying that these movies are of better quality then other on demand services.
Also, now you can rent or buy movies right from their website YAY! Now they just need to give me the ability to search for movies on their website. What have they have now is a browsing type of system, which is not very user friendly if you know what you are looking for.
Okay, I am going to have to find out if the HDX is really any better on my TV. I have just ordered Speed Racer and it’s downloading now. I’ll also get to check this one off from my movie list.
What happens in October?
Brooke’s birthday
She is having a party on the 11th. I have not sent my official RSVP yet. Theresa and I do plan on being there though. I know that I should dress up in a costume, but I don’t know if I really want to go bowling in something.
Aleshia’s birthday
Which happens to be the same day as Brooke’s birthday. If Aleshia is having a party I am not going to be attending it. The whole living on different continents thing kind of plays into that.
Hockey Season gets underway!
Last night FSN aired the pre-season game between the Wings and the Canadiens. It all ended in a shoot out loss for Detroit. I was very impressed with the level of play from the young stars that will be playing in Grand Rapids. We’ll also be able to get in on two more pre-season games, this Friday and Sunday. The one bad thing about hockey season this year is that the Griffins home opener is not until the 25th.
