My Kia Spectra hit 100,000 miles on 12/13/08. I was driving down the freeway, in the dark, while it was raining. My wife was not thrilled. This does mean that my car is no longer under warranty. With any luck the transmission will not go out any time too. I really do not have plans to pump too much more money into the car. I do plan on just driving it until it really cannot be driven anymore.

In other news, Drake had his 2nd birthday party on Friday night. For future birthdays we are not going to get balloons for him. He did not want anything to do with unwrapping presents because he wanted to run around with his three balloons. I took some video but I’ll have to do some editing before I post it. I do have some still pictures, but not that many because I just set the video camera down and let it run. You can click the photos below for larger views.

What happens in October?

Brooke’s birthday
She is having a party on the 11th. I have not sent my official RSVP yet. Theresa and I do plan on being there though. I know that I should dress up in a costume, but I don’t know if I really want to go bowling in something.

Aleshia’s birthday
Which happens to be the same day as Brooke’s birthday. If Aleshia is having a party I am not going to be attending it. The whole living on different continents thing kind of plays into that.

Hockey Season gets underway!
Last night FSN aired the pre-season game between the Wings and the Canadiens. It all ended in a shoot out loss for Detroit. I was very impressed with the level of play from the young stars that will be playing in Grand Rapids. We’ll also be able to get in on two more pre-season games, this Friday and Sunday. The one bad thing about hockey season this year is that the Griffins home opener is not until the 25th.
